THE GRANDMA WHO PRAYED
She was tiny, and old, and her voice wasn't loud,
And she never was one to stand out in a crowd,
But when people were needing a kind, helping hand,
Or someone who'd listen, and who'd understand
The heartaches they suffered - each trial and care,
They All went to Grandma for comfort and prayer.
She held them, and loved them, and cried with them too,
And shared her deep faith in what Jesus could do.
And they all went away with a strength they'd not known,
For they knew Grandma's prayers were ascending the throne.
As a child, when depression had ravaged the land,
She had learned to trust Jesus, and to cling to His hand.
She studied God's Word - hid it deep in her heart,
And knew her salvation would never depart.
While she prayed through the good times, and also the bad
She found comfort and peace, even when she was sad.
So folks sought her out when in sorrow they cried,
For she welcomed them all - and no one was denied.
I guess they thought Grandma would always be there,
To give Godly wisdom, and offer a prayer,
But her days on this earth had come to an end,
And her soul flew to Jesus, her very best friend.
People mourned her, and missed her, and yet through their tears,
They found they were thankful for all of the years
She had loved them, and taught them to not be afraid.
So they'll always remember the Grandma who prayed.
